The Porcelain Ornament

Inspirations for this one is rather obvious.

Enjoy. =]

The Porcelain Ornament

The one I treasured
The one you held
The one so dear
I thought was near

The one with paint
Carved upon its face
Beautiful to look at
Wonderful to get back

The one so hollow
So precious, so dear

With a fling,
a crack,
a shatter,
a smash.
Fell to the ground
Existant as before

But I didn't

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. It's been really hectic with my exams and everything, but I've still managed to come up with these poems. (:

Enjoy! =]

But I didn't

I wanted to cheer for you today
But somehow, I couldn't

I wanted to wish you all the best,
But somehow, I didn't

I wanted to give you my brightest smile
Make you feel good for awhile
Assure you that somebody cares
Even when the whole world stares

I wanted to lift my hand to wave at you
But something inside made it hard to do

And when I saw them pushing you, hitting you,
I wanted go forwards and help you.

But somehow,
Somehow,
I didn't

Waiting For Another Wait

Inspired from emails. (:
Enjoy! =]

Waiting For Another Wait (edited)

It really does seem strange to me
What I'm always doing sitting here

Staring at this white blank screen,
"There's no new mail waiting here."

It really is so strange because,
I don't know why
I'm bother waiting.
I sit and stare and wait and try
Even when you're not responding

But try as I might
To forget,
To stop waiting

I just can't stop;
This I keep doing

I just can't stop waiting
Waiting...
Waiting...

Waiting...

Even if just for another wait.

Taste Of Love

Another long break from poetry!
So sorry for the lack of updates.
Well, here's a poem inspired by taste.
Enjoy! =]

Taste Of Love

Sweet
Your touch on my hand

The hours of blissful oblivion
We spent together

The joy
Of two hearts united

Spicy
Exciting, enticing
How your love excites my senses!

How every moment we shared
Was fiery
Threatening to overwhelm

Sour
The pain of parting
The hurt of losing
You

Like food gone bad
This love gone wrong
So sour on my tongue
The taste I would never forget

Bitter
The after-taste
The fear of hurting again

The reminiscences of memories
The pain dulled

Yet it is still present
Making me afraid to love again

They Can't See Pass This Mask We've Created

Another poem about the confusing state my friendship is in now. Something like an update in a poem.

Enjoy! =]

They Can't See Pass This Mask We've Created

How blind they must be!
For only the vision impaired
Would be unable to see through all this

They think they know
What's going on behind closed doors
They think they know
When everything would end

They laugh
Make comments
About us being silly

'Just some childish squabble,
Blown over now.'

But they, but they
So blind, so blind
Just can't see pass the mask we've created

The Times I Still Remember

This poem is about someone reminiscing of the past. I think everyone has something that makes them think of the past, be it whether it is a good memory or a bad memory.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it! =]

[Note: Look out for a National Day poem coming soon!]

The Times I Still Remember

Watching the leaves fall fast
Onto the banks as wet as my face
I remember those times we used to sit by that tree
Talking
Talking
about things now forgotten

How lovely
How sweet
How bliss was the ignorance

The thought that everything would be fine
When it was clear that it wouldn't

So now
I'm here
Watching the leaves fall fast onto the banks
Still as wet as my face

I sit
By the same tree
Not talking
Never talking

Just reliving
The times I still remember

Darkness

Sorry for the long break I took lately! I have had exams the past week and have therefore been extremely busy, so poems were scarce, though I assure you, inspirations were not. (:

And especially since we are studying poems for Literature now, and I have found so much inspiration from the poems of others!

Well, here's one poem, though not inspired by existing poems. (:

I was thinking about what darkness really was, and this poem just presented itself to me.
Enjoy! =]

Darkness

Darkness

How to describe it?
Black
Or blue perhaps

In it
Sight is useless
while sense is priceless
Trying to grope
Out of the darkness

Try to find
Light non-existent,
But through the darkness
Nothing is all I see

Darkness

How to define it?
An absence of light:
That's all it really is.

Cold War

Another poem inspired from my friendship problems. Enjoy! =]

Cold War

Cold
So cold
Like a freezing winter day
Like unfeeling snow
On bare skin

Cold
So cold
I can see the snow in your eyes
As you look my way

Not talking
Just staring
The atmosphere in here
Around us
As cold as steel

I'm cold
So cold
Too cold

I turn to you for warmth
I turn my head to speak

But your eyes
The coldest of them all
Seemed to ask me
Why I was infringing the rules of the cold war

If You Were Here Now, All I would say is... ...

Inspired from a certain person's blog post. Dedicated to that same person.
Enjoy! =]

If You Were Here Now, All I would say is... ...

I knew it was all too good to be true.
It would never be that way between us
Because that gap
Though small in years
will never be close

Your duties
And mine
stand between us
like a wall between rooms

But if you were here now
All I would want to say is... ...

How Did I Get To Like You?

About the forbidden relationship. Enjoy! =]

How Did I Get To Like You?

How did I get to like you?
I didn't know you,
You didn't know me

How did I get to like you?
You shouted at me
Punished me
Shed tears for me

How did I get to like you?
When we stood face to face
Looked eye to eye

There was so many others to like

And when I look down at you sleeping,
I wonder:
How did I get to like you?

The Closest Clique In The Class

My friendship with my friends have been really difficult lately, and this poem is my view on where our relationship stands.

Anyway, enjoy! (:

The Closest Clique In The Class

Walk into class
Hand in hand

The classmates stare and whisper

'There they are
The closest clique in the class.'

Best friends?
Best friends,
I said
Seeing people stare

Our smiles, so fake
Break when they fall to the ground,
nothing but hollow expressions

Best friends?
Best friends!
Let us break together

Broken pieces
walking around with linked arms

'There they are,
The closest clique in the class.'

Sounds From A Chapel Session

A very simple poem inspired from the chapel session at my school. Enjoy! =]

Sounds From A Chapel Session

The sound of chairs
Against the floor

The sound of ties
Against the door

Of teachers
Moving in their sits

'Don't talk! We'll kill
The next who speaks.'

The hum of air-cons
The whirling of fans

The deafening silence
As we look up and stand
