The Porcelain Ornament

The one I treasured
The one you held
The one so dear
I thought was near

The one with paint
Carved upon its face
Beautiful to look at
Wonderful to get back

The one so hollow
So precious, so dear

With a fling,
a crack,
a shatter,
a smash.
Fell to the ground
Existant as before

But I didn't

I wanted to cheer for you today
But somehow, I couldn't

I wanted to wish you all the best,
But somehow, I didn't

I wanted to give you my brightest smile
Make you feel good for awhile
Assure you that somebody cares
Even when the whole world stares

I wanted to lift my hand to wave at you
But something inside made it hard to do

And when I saw them pushing you, hitting you,
I wanted go forwards and help you.
