We Thought

Written in the spur of a moment. Hope you'll enjoy it. (:

We Thought

We thought
Four was forever
Friends were inseperable.

We thought
time was resistant
names were insignificant.

We thought
Promises would be kept
Tears would not be shed

We thought, we thought
The time would freeze for us
Held in a glass done of innocence

Untouchable, unchanged
Until we could bear it to.

But no,
For us,
Why did we think what we thought?

Ode to the World's End

A poem to raise awareness for the devastating environmental state our Earth is in now. Enjoy and review! (:

Ode to the World's End

Ignorance, or nonchalance?
The Earth no longer has the patience to care
Anger's warmth and bitter gentleness
threaten to overwhelm us.

The sea is famished
With mouth wide open,
It swallows the mountains of ice
It has been starved for too long.

The river's rain drown all
Rich, happy
sad -- dead
It is time to bury that dream in the falling rain.

It's getting difficult to breathe now,
Nature is taking back all due payment
I feel the breathlessness
I feel the hopelessness
Welcome,
to this beautiful sorrow.

Do you feel it?

The Underdog of Tomorrow

A poem written to raise awareness of bullying in school. Hope you'll enjoy it! (:

The Underdog of Tomorrow (edited)

Success could not keep up with me.
I raced ahead, exhilaration taking over like a master,
As merciless as those I run from.

A room full of giants,
The wave of fear reared its head
Drowning all other thoughts, crushing every sensation.

I run, breathless
The bell ringing too slow.
Faster, and faster,
The sound of their cars shoot at me,
knives to my ears.

Then quickly, nimbly,
Up in the tree I hide
My sobs
Unheard in the sea of jeers below.
Ducking their shots
The stones I throw back --
I wish I were one of them

I forget myself in the world of books,
Deluded that nightmares would pass.

But this is me,
This is I
The underdog of tomorrow.

Blowing in the Wind

Another one of those crazy poems about friends. The tone here is rather egnimatic...
anyway, enjoy and review!

Blowing in the Wind

Candle.
Burning.
Yearning.

Of friendship,
From Love and Hate

From afar, our eyes
Lock
But you broke it, the connection
Holding our hearts together.

Crying, crying
Why, why?
Pain, hurt
Why, why?

Laughing, laughing
To you, nothing has changed

But I know, I see, I feel.
The candle
Once so strong
Is burning, is fading...

blowing in the wind.

Perfection

This one has been preying on my mind for ages, I didn't know whether to post it or not. But, ah well, I decided all poems deserve to be published, so here it is.

Inspired by people like this.

Perfection

What should be said
What could be said
About people like these?

Name synonymous with
Smart
Clever
Genius
Cool

What can be said, what can be said?

Looks of envy,
Eyes of hate
Hearts of passion,
Marks of fate.

I look on
I look on

Surrounded,
Consumed
The large crowd eating her,
Eating her

Everyone wants a little bit of perfection.

I watch on
I watch on

And think
Is this,
What it is,
To be perfection?

One Math Lesson

A long long hiatus has certainly passed from the last time I have posted a poem here! It does feel good to be posting again. It took me so long partially because of the fact that I forgot the login details for this blogger account, and had to rack my brains as to how to find out my username and password.

Anyhow, I'm back now, and The Paper Glove is back at work writing! (: This poem is inspired from, well, a math lesson. Enjoy and review! (=

One Math Lesson

So full of people
This place
So many noises
I wish I knew that face

And wait
I stop
I hesitate.

Lo, Behold-
I see you
across the room

Laughing, Laughing
I wonder if you remember what you promised.

Surprise, Surprise
But who's surprised
Neither you
Nor me.

Mrs Teacher asks
To laughter and jeers
Back alone there
Are you lonely?

Are you lonely?
Are you lonely?
Are you lonely?

Heads turn
Stares like daggers of ice

I shake my head and say

No I'm not

I'm not
I'm not

How lonely can one math lesson get?

*Ed's Note: This has been a rather difficult poem for me, as I'm not having some problems in school and at home. But anyway I hope you've enjoyed it. (:
